Island Guardian Legendaries

Okay so with the recent leak of new Pokemon from PKMN Sun and Moon, there has been a lot of discussion about the new Legendary, Tapu Koko. One redditor came up with the well researched theory of the 4 Guardians a Totem Pole www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comme… . So I decided to read up about the deities and try my hand at a quick sketch of what the Guardian Totem Pole could look like.


Now I'll say now, I know with the colo(u)r scheme, it's annoying to see Yellow Red Green then Blue instead of a rainbow-like Red Yellow Green Blue, but I thought Tapu Koko being the first announced AND that's its based on a rooster and possibly the Thunderbird, I put it on top, as Eagles appear on the top of Native American poles. And because it's massive rooster comb, it looks like it goes on top? Also, I don't know what animals will be represented by the other Legendaries, but based off the description of the deities, I had to guess. It is said that the first man was created in the image of Kāne, so I made it a monkey-figure. With Lono, it represents fertility, agriculture, rainfall, music and peace, and all I could think of was a frog-figure. Then with Kanaloa, it is said to be represented by an Octopus, so that was a bit easier. Also, Tapu Koko had cool feathery appendages attached to it's waist, so I thought Kanaloa would have tentacles cos it's an octopus, presumably. Now I know the totem looks a bit like wooden barrels, Gamefreak's designs will be much better.


It will also be interesting if the different island legendaries have different markings and patterns instead of the repeated white diamonds, etc. Also, I couldn't be bothered to illustrate the legendaries from inside of their totem, cos ain't nobody got time for that. But more exciting for me, I can't wait to see what animals they actually represent and if they go along with the Electric, Fire, Grass, Water rumour AND if they stack up as a Totem Pole in the game????
